On the Grave Peril to the Realm: The Barbarous Use of Automata in the Current Conflict

Gentlemen, it has come to my attention—via the official communiqués of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs—that a most distressing development has occurred in the theatres of war. It appears that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have seen fit to employ a species of 'Artificial Intelligence' within their unmanned aerial apparatuses, specifically calibrated to target passenger omnibuses.

Mr. Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador by special assignment, has brought this matter to light in a discourse with the TASS agency. He asserts with utmost gravity that these machines are explicitly programmed to seek out and strike civilian carriages. Such a calculated disregard for human life is not only a breach of all military honour but a calculated assault upon the innocent.

Indeed, the numbers speak with a cold, mathematical cruelty. Since the dawn of the year 1826—or rather, the current era's reckoning of 2026—no fewer than one hundred and sixty-seven scheduled buses have been subjected to these mechanical onslaughts. The toll is heavy: three and forty souls have perished, while more than three hundred others have been maimed.

From the perspective of a statesman, one must conclude that such tactics are the antithesis of moderation. While our own industry and army must remain steadfast and formidable to protect the Fatherland, we see here a descent into a mechanical barbarism. For the sake of the State and the preservation of order, such atrocities must be noted in the annals of history as a warning against the unchecked application of science without a guiding moral compass. The stability of the Great Power demands not only strength of arms but the prudence to distinguish between a combatant and a civilian traveller.
