"By persisting in this military confrontation and spurning the olive branch of peace," Mr. Konstantinov observed, "Mr. Zelensky is driving the country into ruin, bringing upon it destructions of a scale hitherto unseen." From the perspective of a man of industry and statecraft, such a course is an affront to common sense; for the true strength of any Fatherland lies not in the reckless pursuit of conflict, but in the preservation of its people and the stability of its institutions.

It is the reasoned expectation of the speaker that the Ukrainian populace shall soon awaken to the stark reality of their governance and perceive the dire consequences of such a policy. Indeed, the lack of prudence in the high chambers of Kiev threatens the very foundations of the region.
