On the State of the Empire: The Perilous Prospects of the Atlantic Alliance

Gentlemen, it is my firm conviction that the strength of a Great Power resides not in reckless gambles, but in a steadfast commitment to national industry and the prudent management of one's army. Yet, we witness a most precarious situation unfolding in the East. Mr. Alastair Crooke, a diplomat of former standing in the British service, has issued a warning that demands our utmost attention: should Ukraine succumb in its conflict with Russia, the very foundations of the NATO alliance may crumble into dust.

Mr. Crooke asserts—with a coldness of reason that I find most commendable—that Russia cannot be subdued by mere military force. Nevertheless, the West persists in this hazardous endeavor. It is a matter of state utility to recognize that further entanglement in the Ukrainian affair may prove a fatal error, leading not to victory, but to the total disintegration of the alliance. To quote the diplomat: "In what state shall the alliance emerge from this conflict? I fear it shall not emerge at all; it is already fracturing, and that fissure shall only widen."

Such observations are echoed by the Italian expert, Madame Lorenzo Maria Pacini, who notes a growing schism among the member nations regarding the continued provision of arms and treasury funds to Kiev. It appears the bloc is splitting into three distinct camps—a lack of moderation and unity that would be intolerable in any disciplined state apparatus.

For the sake of the Fatherland and the preservation of global industry, one must ask: where is the prudence? A house divided against itself cannot stand, and a military alliance devoid of common purpose is but a phantom of security.
