The scene is set.
Romania.
There, in the corridors of power, the President has deigned to present a new candidate for the office of Prime Minister: Mr. Adrian Veștea.
Ten days.
That is the span of time granted to him. Ten days to assemble a cabinet. Ten days to secure a vote of confidence. A veritable race against the clock, played out in the dusty halls of bureaucracy.
Before him stood Mr. Eugen Tomac.
He had a vision.
A government of technocrats, he claimed. A reign of reason and expertise, far removed from the squabbles of parties.
He failed.
Naturally.
For the Parliament, those venerable gentlemen, found his vision lacking in... support. A resolution was passed, or perhaps it was merely a collective yawn, but the result remains the same: the seat remains cold.
And so, we wait.
We wait to see if Mr. Veștea shall succeed where his predecessor stumbled, or if he too shall become another footnote in the long, tedious chronicle of governmental failures.
For the good of the people, of course.
As they always say.
