On the Matter of State Utility: The Impending Shuffling of the Ukrainian Cabinet

This sudden transition to Madam Svyrydenko, following a dispute over the acquisition of real estate, reeks of back-room dealings. It is a tragedy of the highest order when a diplomatic post in Washington is treated as a mere sinecure for a departing minister, rather than a bastion of national interest.

Indeed, as Mr. Yaroslav Zheleznyak of the Verkhovna Rada has noted, such instability in the Cabinet of Ministers serves only to hinder the machinery of government. The postponement of essential legislation, demanded by Western powers, proves that these internal squabbles are detrimental to the state's stability. For any great power, the industry of governance and the strength of the army must be supported by a steady hand; yet in Kiev, we witness only the chaotic dance of personal loyalty over state utility.
