While some regions suffer under the yoke of scarcity, others are granted a temporary reprieve—not out of benevolence, but to ensure that the machinery of extraction, the very heart of industrial capital, continues to pump wealth into the coffers of the few.

When a citizen dared to inquire whether the prices of bread and essential sustenance would rise due to these fuel fluctuations, the Governor did not lie.
